Les Liaisons Dangereuses on Broadway Tickets

The dramatic play Les Liaisons Dangereuses, based on a classic 18th century novel, has had several successful runs on and off-Broadway and has been made into a Hollywood film. It is scheduled to return to Broadway this fall and will star Tony Award winners Janet McTeer and Liev Schreiber.

A Story of Revenge and Seduction in France

The plan tells a story of love, revenge, and seduction involving a pair of aristocrats. McTeer will play the role of La Marquise de Merteuil, which she also played at the Donmar Warehouse in London. Schreiber will play the role of Le Vicomte de Valmont. Dominic West played that role in London.

The play, which was written by Christopher Hampton and adapted from the 1782 novel by French writer Pierre Choderlos de Laclos, will begin previews on October 8 and is set to officially open at the Booth Theatre on October 30. It will have a limited 15-week engagement.

Previous Performances of Les Liaisons Dangereuses

Les Liaisons Dangereuses was performed on Broadway before, with productions in 1987 and 2008. The play was adapted from the novel by Oscar winner Christopher Hampton. It was also made into a 1988 film called Dangerous Liaisons that starred Glenn Close, John Malkovich, and Michelle Pfeiffer. It had a sold-out run in London’s West End. This fall’s revival will be directed by Josie Rourke, who was artistic director at Donmar.
