In Transit on Broadway Tickets
In Transit, an a cappella musical, will be coming to Broadway this fall. It will be performed at the Circle in the Square Theatre and will take the place that will be available after the run of Fun Home ends. The play will tell the stories of the lives of 11 New Yorkers on a subway.
Unique A Cappella Music Created by a Talented Team
In Transit will be the first a cappella musical to be performed on Broadway. The music encompasses many styles, including hip hop, gospel, and pop musical theater. The play will begin previews on November 10 and is scheduled to officially open on December 11.
The team that wrote the book, music, and lyrics includes Academy Award winner Kristen Anderson-Lopez, who wrote songs for the Disney film Frozen with her husband, Robert Lopez, a Tony Award-winning songwriter. The writing team also includes James-Allen Ford, Russ Kaplan, and Sara Wordsworth, who are new to Broadway.
The play will be directed by three-time Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall, who won awards for direction and choreography for Anything Goes and Nice Work If You Can Get It. Deke Sharon, who served as on-site music director and vocal producer for the films Pitch Perfect and Pitch Perfect 2, created the vocal arrangements.
